Workshop at the Winery 2017 - DAY ONE

We had another successful and fun watercolor workshop at the Wolf Creek Winery in Norton, Ohio, in August.  It was a three-day workshop this year, and we had a full house -- an enthusiastic group of 15 women and one man.

Examples of Pat's Fruit & Pattern paintings

Our project on Day One, was Fruit & Pattern --

As a result of the explosion and fire at the winery, a few months ago, the Great Room where we had had our previous workshops, was gone.  They were able to set us up nicely under a huge white tent, which worked out really well.

After picking out a number of references, everyone got to work on their paintings.

My sister, Cheri -- I couldn't do this without her!

After the underpainting was dry, I demonstrated how to approach the drawing and painting --

Yes, it's okay to use a ruler to draw a straight line.

So many beautiful paintings being created that day . . .

Can't wait until tomorrow!
