MONTHLY RECAP for February -- What I've Been Up To

The first two months of 2016 were busy and productive -- a portrait commission completed, a finished "mosaic" painting, new tutorial pdf's to offer, a one-day workshop here at my house/studio in Durango, and lots of planning for the exciting year ahead!

This watercolor was painted on cradled "Aquabord" and then finished with spray fixative and spray varnish.

PAINTING TUTORIALS

I just finished the first series of my tutorials, now offered on downloadable pdf's.  This first series is Negative Painting in Watercolor:

These pdf's are nice, because once you download them, you can easily print them out and use them to follow along with, as you're painting.  Each pdf download is $6, or you can get all three for $15.  Here's the link to Etsy, where you can purchase these tutorials:

ART NOUVEAU WORKSHOP

On February 17, I had a small workshop with seven ladies.  It was a sunny, beautiful winter day for designing and painting, here at my home/studio in Durango.

PHOTOS OF HOME

I spent a lot of time INSIDE in January and February.  We got a lot of snow and cold these first two months, so most of my photos were taken from the inside, looking out.  It was beautiful, though!

PLANNING, PLANNING, PLANNING

Making personal travel plans for Costa Rica (for my youngest son's wedding); Moab, Utah (for hiking with friends); New York City (another Broadway trip); and, Spain/Portugal/Morocco (with my husband).

I've also been planning for my 2016 workshops -- in Berthoud, Colorado (April); Ohio (August); and Durango (September).

I'm especially excited about the Painted Prism Art Retreat, in Estes Park, Colorado, July 14-17.
