Back in December, I heard about a Photo Challenge that sounded intriguing. Someone had come up with 31 themes for each day of December and challenged her readers to take and post a photo for each one of those themes/days.
So, I took the challenge and posted each day's photo on my Facebook page. It was a big hit (for my friends and family, anyway, and their friends). And, I enjoyed it so much that I mean to continue this practice throughout 2013.
I started looking at my everyday life with different eyes -- really "seeing" it -- and noticing the beautiful things around me that I sometimes take for granted. Whether I use some of these photos as reference for future paintings or not, is not important. Just taking the pictures was what it was all about -- although, I may just turn some of them into paintings. . .
Here are some of my photos from the December Challenge:
"RED"
"JOYOUS"
"SHOPPING"
"BRIGHT"
"WHAT I'M READING"
"WRAPPING PAPER"
"GREEN"

In January, I came up with my own themes for each day of the month, and I continue to post them on Facebook every day. I'm sharing my photos on "The Painted Prism", so you might be inspired to do the same.
Here are a few of my pix from the January Challenge:
"BUNDLED UP"

"NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION: STRETCH MORE"
"BLACK & WHITE, IN COLOR"
At the end of January, I will post 28 themes for the February Photo Challenge . . .
