I've been painting for years and am currently preparing for an exhibition but realized i have much to learn. My reds were dull, dull, dull and i love to get intense colours. Sigh! So i turned to the net and googled, "why are reds in watercolour so dull?" and your post on 10 tips for painting reds was the second or third on the list. My what a revelation for this old guy. I then read your articles and greens, on yellows, and on starting palettes and put your page in my bookmarks. Thank you for helping me with my show. I cannot wait to get back to the studio and start painting again. I will also re-organize my palette and add Quinacridone Gold. I think that is the one you love. I will have to re-read that part. I have used Quin Gold in the past and loved it but don't know why i dropped it. I think because i fell in love with Cobalt Teal which became my favourite and one i over used. Sigh again. But i ramble and could go on for hours but would not be so bold and must go and apply my new information. Thank you Pat. You are a grand painter and brilliant watercolorist. Blessings to you and your family this Easter. Ross Lynem. Ross Lynemhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15371133937402266762noreply@blogger.com
